How do you describe an increase in attendance of 5,722 people (2.4%) at an event? Well, that depends on what newspaper you are:
Richmond Times-Dispatch: “Attendance rises slightly at State Fair’s new home”.
The Free Lance–Star: “Virginia State Fair attendance jumps in Caroline”.
Debate amongst yourselves.
Both of the headlines are true. The Fair’s attendance did only rise slightly. But, compared to last year, attendance IN CAROLINE, did jump tremendously.
That said, having any attendance increase, after moving from a central location to a rural location is a good thing.
The fair was a lot of fun this year, as opposed to previous visits.
Out of curiosity, how was the traffic?
